It’s official, again. Black Hide Steakhouse by Gambaro is Australia’s Best Steak Restaurant after being awarded Best Steak Restaurant at the 2016 National Savour Australia™ Restaurant & Catering Awards for Excellence. Black Hide has now won the national title 2 out of the 3 years since the restaurant opened its doors.

R&CA’s Awards for Excellence program provides deserved recognition to those restaurants and caterers that excel in their field. The 2016 National Awards For Excellence winners were announced on 24 October at Four Points by Sheraton, Darling Harbour.

Black Hide Steakhouse Director and member of Restaurant & Catering, John Gambaro said “being a National winner is not only a tribute to the Gambaro team but it also represents the calibre of restaurants in Brisbane which can be overseen for bigger names in Sydney and Melbourne.”

Black Hide Steakhouse opened in 2013 as the sister restaurant to the iconic Gambaro Seafood Restaurant. Within this time Black Hide Steakhouse by Gambaro has been awarded the QLD Restaurant and Catering Best Steak Restaurant for the last 3 consecutive years, as well as a Chef Hat for the last 3 consecutive years. And in 2014 Black Hide won Brisbane’s Restaurant of the Year Award.

Black Hide Steakhouse has won the Steak Restaurant category for the third year running at the 2016 QLD & NT Savour Awards for Excellence.
Director and Restaurant & Catering Australia (R&CA) member John Gambaro says, “We couldn’t have won three years running without the support of our guests and the dedication of our team”. “The committed Black Hide team has worked consistently since opening in 2014. The continued recognition motivates us to keep earning our place each year among Queensland’s best restaurants”.
More than 550 local restaurants, cafes and catering businesses gathered to celebrate the achievements of their peers who were judged across 38 categories, with the winners announced at the Awards for Excellence ceremony held at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre.

The Awards for Excellence is a nationally recognised, independently judged awards program that celebrates exceptional service and culinary talent across the state. The Awards for Excellence is the only program in Australia where the judging criteria is determined by consumers who rank what is important to them in the dining experience.

Gambaro’s Restaurant & Function Centre also made it as finalists in 3 other categories including; Seafood Restaurant, Wedding Caterer and Function/Convention Centre Caterer.

Black Hide Steakhouse Awards

For the third year running, Black Hide Steakhouse by Gambaro has been awarded a Chef Hat in the Good Food Guide Awards for 2017.

The Gambaro Group are extremely proud of this achievement and are very appreciative of the support the restaurant has received from the Brisbane and wider community.

This year’s Good Food Guide Awards were held on Monday 18th July 2016, at Otto Ristorante and awarded 28 Chef Hats to Brisbane’s top restaurants, which included Black Hide Steakhouse by Gambaro.

Black Hide’s One Hat recognition is a testament to Lukas McEwan, Kelly Murray and the rest of the talented kitchen crew over the last 12 months, combined with the dedication of Restaurant Manager, Vincent Martzloff and his service team, who have consistently provided diners with outstanding service. The consistent efforts of the whole team has resulted in Black Hide securing their third consecutive Chef Hat.

Gambaro Seafood Restaurant also deserve an honourable mention, only narrowly missing the One Hat qualification (15/20) with a review score of 14.5.

Both Black Hide Steakhouse and Gambaro Seafood Restaurant can be found in The Brisbane Times 2017 Good Food Guide, available in newsagents and bookstores from July 19, with all book purchases receiving free access to the new Good Food app.

Black Hide Steakhouse takes home Steak Restaurant – Formal – 2015 Savour Australia Restaurant & Catering Awards for Excellence – QLD/NT

Over 540 people flocked in from across the country on Monday 7th September to attend the 2015 Savour Australia™ Restaurant & Catering HOSTPLUS Awards for Excellence – QLD/NT, held at the Brisbane Convention Centre.

For the second year running Black Hide Steakhouse in Brisbane was awarded best Steak Restaurant in Queensland. In 2014, Black Hide was awarded the same award, and then went onto the National Awards where it won Australia’s Best Steak Restaurant.

Black Hide Steakhouse Director and member of Restaurant & Catering, John Gambaro said “to be awarded QLD Steak Restaurant for the second year running is a testament to the dedication in excellence and professionalism upheld by the team at Black Hide Steakhouse.”

The National competition will be held in October 2015.

Black Hide Wins a Hat Again

Congratulations to the team at Black Hide Steakhouse on winning a Hat at the Brisbane Times Good Food Guide Awards 2016.

The Chef Hat Awards held this month at Lightspace awarded 29 Chef Hat’s to the top restaurants in Brisbane, which included Black Hide Steakhouse by Gambaro.

This award is an accolade to the commitment in excellence proven and upheld by Black Hide’s kitchen crew – Lukas McEwan, Kelly Murray, and the team over the past year. The professionalism and dedication of Restaurant Manager Vincent Martzloff and his service team in providing diners with consistently excellent service have ensured Black Hide Steakhouse have maintained their Chef Hat for the second year running.
